Burlington Mayor Honors Burlington Senior Center Volunteers and Donors 

 

Outgoing City of Burlington Mayor Jeannie Hefty took a moment to honor donors at Burlington Senior Center’s second of 8 Supper Club events sponsored by United Way’s Workforce Fund on February 25th, 2024. Mayor Hefty presented Burlington Senior Activity Center Volunteer John Maltby with a proclamation for his contributions to the center and named a workshop after him.

The mayor presented a proclamation to Burlington Glass owners Karen and Mark Caliva for their contributions to the Senior Center State Street building, which included the donation of several new custom windows.

The mayor posthumously honored former Ketterhagen Flooring owner Gary Ketterhagen for donating and installing new flooring by presenting a proclamation to his wife and daughters.

The Burlington Senior Activity Center moved to their new location at 587 East State Street in 2017. Executive Director Patricia McNamee Rosenberg introduced Mayor Hefty at the Supper Club event and suggested that the mayor was instrumental in assisting in the development of the Senior Center over the years.

She also thanked all contributors to the center’s success past and present. Mayor Hefty thanked the Senior Center Board, chaired by Kathy Baumiester for all their work in developing the facility.
