At this years Senior Sports softball game, local vendors supported our 55+ Co-ed Softball League. At each game, fan signboards from Burlington Footwear, CareMinders Home Care, Daniels Family Funeral Homes, Fox River State Bank, Ides Jewelry, Minute Man Press and Wanderlust Tours were hung from the grandstand fence at the Congress St field in Burlington. With the softball season coming to a close, the fan signs will be hung on a BSC wall at the Burlington Senior Center where all visitors to BSC will be able see the fan signs.
Anyone ( Business or not) interested in supporting any BSC activity may contact John Brensinger 262-763-2854 on how to participate in our fan sign program.
Softball season is quickly approaching. “Over 55 Softball” is recreational ball for men & women who love to play softball but feel they cannot compete at a level with younger players. The rules are modified (example: no sliding) to avoid injuries. There are no assigned teams, so there is no pressure to be there every week — but once you come, you will want to be there every week. This season the games will be played at Congress St. field on Wednesday nights at 6:00. Weather permitting play will start in May. For more information contact Kathy Baumeister 262 763-3441 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Beginning at 9:00 am Saturday May 7th and every Saturday while weather permits, slow walkers and slow runners will meet at Burlington Senior Center, 201 N Main St in Burlington. Participants will have a brief meeting to include warm ups, then walkers and runners will begin to stroll or jog through the nearby parks and trails. Now is the time to get out your walking shoes and/or running shoes to prepare for the fun Saturday morning activity. Burlington Footwear has agreed to help the SILVER FOX WALK/RUN CLUB by advertising in the BSC NEWS and offering senior discounts on walking and running shoes. Refer to the Burlington Footwear ad in the BSC NEWS for details.
Update: Silver Fox Walk/Run Club has been suspended until further notice.
BSC started the WII Bowling League for people 50+ on January 28th, 2011. Play has temporarily stopped due to a leaders illness. Once play resumes, come to the Burlington Senior Center every 1st and 3rd Friday from 3-5 pm.
